Rock Solid Opinionated Perceptions ...

Am not opinionated by nature, you know. I am not the sort who could debate on one side of a topic for long. The mind looks at either or all the possible options before ‘not arriving’ at any sort of conclusion. My brother gets a certain joy in poking at this aspect of my personality and says before I could decide what to have for breakfast, its dinner time. I know he is exaggerating, I prefer pongal+vadai/ poha /bread+jam for breakfast, full south Indian meals for lunch (extra pappad please!), peanuts/jalebi for evening snack and anything Veg for dinner. I am even precise about what ‘chakna’ I need for my drink, But, what my brother is trying to imply is that, I don’t apply judgment and merely stagnate with all the choices in more important issues (what’s more important!).

Over to the essence of this post, there are certain strong view-points I have formed over the years, that am going to share, not that am going to take it as a cause and tell the world to see it my way. You may not think the same, and, your opinions of course are going to have little impact on mine!

Here we go

Homosexuality is bloody scary

Gays-> pink shirts, striped pants, shaved arms/legs, manicured, pedicured, romancing another pink shirt, striped pant, ….. well they are normal beings aint they? We should support gay parades and cheer them up. No?

Bull Shit.

I think it’s a scary. Gays are a threat to human evolution. I mean can you imagine a man wooing another? I would never go near one. I’ll never let my future kids to talk to one, I’ll always tell him “Son, never go to a man who wears pink shirts, striped pants… hey look at that chic, she’s hot! Be nice to the gay but keep distance, my son!"

See the point being, with more and more gays coming out in the public, we’ll see a huge population control. The Human species, will end thus. The male gene, without war or hunting, has surely become softer and sensitive. Add to this movies by Karan Johar and co, they are creating this new breed of neo man, bachaoooooooo!

I like Communism

Communism as a concept is romantic. All are equal, it preaches in a mallu accent with rasgulla in mouth. The chai-walla (in Anil Kapoor fake accent) is as good as the manager. It’s a people’s idea. I have no clue on why it never took off. May be it was too idealistic, that normal people like us screwed it by implementing it. It’s a thought. Maybe its not possible for all men to be equal. Maybe some are superior, some are meant to follow them. Get laid off when the superior man decides. But I love communism for its an exciting thought.

In a way, capitalism having reached a saturation, is communism. For instance, if the boss messes with you; you leave him and go to another firm with 30% increment. You may even return the favour by speaking about his wife. The power which was with the bourgeoisie has shifted to the hands of the masses, because of the options available.

Indians in America- I’m worried

Of the 40 people in my 12th std class photograph, atleast 30 of them are in USA and uploaded orkut/facebook pic standing next to Niagra and Statue of Liberty. Extrapolating this 40 sample to other schools, and my generation as such.. there are more people in the USA and UK and Dubai than that are in India.

If you notice, the friends in America don’t twitter as much as they facebook or orkut! Doesn’t it mean their life is boring? Well I don’t twitter much too, but I atleast attempt to ;)

A good friend of mine, who lives in ohio, told me it’s a shit life in USA but its also addictive. You make loads of money and save it, you buy a wooden house and BMW, and are not respected much for you are a miser, don’t have a decent hygiene and also hated for snatching yet another Americans job. Where does this lead us to. An interesting thought, for chances are there might be anti-india riots sooner than later! What happens to the next generation? What is the identity of the diaspora? What psychological implications will it have on kids who are always looked down upon? I am worried.

Causless life

Our life has no real cause to it. We have no guillotines, no war elephants, no land to conquer (no am not talking of real estate ads) no dhandi march to do. We can’t end with a splendid martyrdom. Our life has no cause to it. We go to jobs, make presentations/reports/sell products and get back home tired. Money is our objective. Your ATM statement becomes your cause.

Also we cant achieve immortality in these times. Today, Somebody as funny as PG Wodehouse would be dubbed a funny blogger, and he’ll get 250 comments for every single post. Nothing Legendary. Fast Food Culture. People digest stuff faster. And let it out too. So forget what your epitaph would read and just live your time preciously before dying a lonely death! We are going to be frustrated folks with no novelty! Trust me, You wont be remembered. Guhahaha

Zodiac Maniacs

I hate the zodiac maniacs, or those who act in a certain way and give the reason as their sun sign. For instance, I have seen people who rattle all the shit they want to say, hurt the person standing in front in most direct manner, and justify “you know am this sign, I always am on the face”.

I think we need a certain sensitivity in dealing with people, and we cant just give a piece of mind to anyone. Its not the sun sign, its immaturity! The issue is not with zodiac but those bums who use it as a defense mechanism. Its just a humbug that’s mere adjectives, called zodiac signs.

So much for tonight, and I do have strong opinions don’t I!

Mak :)

Are you listening, Arun's brother (forgot his name)...?

See there again lies the rub. You are confusing "having an opinion" with "being opinionated".

Also being scared, being worried, liking something are all forms of opinion.

Opinionated is if you say "A mug of beer kicks a bottle of coke's ass" or "Father in laws suck" or "Anna University is infinitely better than Delhi University"

Also the question is not whether you know what to eat for breakfast, but really if given a choice between pongal+vadai/ poha /bread+jam what you would pick?!

I'm not opinionated, I'm just always right.

Exactly anonymous! I agree with you...arun is trying to be all macho instead of being his 'cute' self, by Trying to be opinionated...how can an opinionated fellow just have 5 strong opinions and then put them all in one blogpost??

Oh come on lay off people. Honestly, the one thing you've missed arun? In today's world, everyone's so affraid of being Politically Incorrect, that all spine has been removed. Everyone's a potential lawyer, nitpicking on grammar and missing out on literature.

As to whether your opinions are right or wrong, who's to judge? And to quote Alan Moore - "Who watches the Watchmen?"

yeah man, those zodian maniacs! Such a pain, and you know what, they wouldn't believe in anything else, but can be such opportunists when it comes to using their signs in their defence. :)
